Security Bonds

  • By law, your security deposit (commonly called "bond") is held by the Rental Deposit Authority (RDA)
  • When you sign your lease, you will also need to sign a bond lodgement form.  When your lease ends all tenants who signed that lodgement form will also need to sign a bond claim form, so if any of your housemates intend to leave the property before your lease expires, make sure you talk to us first so we can get a  bond transfer form completed.  If this is not done there could be major delays before your bond is returned to you at the end of your lease.
  • When your lease ends ,once all keys are returned, carpets have been cleaned and a final inspection has been carried out, we will send you a bond claim form detailing any claim we wish to make to cover cleaning, gardening, replacements, repairs, unpaid rent and any other costs you are responsible for and the amount payable to you.
  •  If all is well when you leave, your bond will be returned to you by the RDA usually within 2-3 days.
